Political leaders and stakeholders from Adamawa Northern Senatorial District have rallied behind Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and pledged bloc support for the political direction of the region ahead of the 2027 elections.
The leaders made the declaration during a solidarity and appreciation visit to the Adamawa State Government House in Yola, where they commended Governor Fintiri for development projects and interventions across the northern part of the state.
A major focus of the gathering was the emergence of Hon. Adamu Kamale, popularly known as the Kasala of Michika, as the preferred political choice being promoted by the Fintiri administration and its allies in the northern zone.
The stakeholders also expressed confidence in Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta and other political leaders from the zone, saying their collective leadership could strengthen unity and political cooperation across Adamawa.
Former APC Chairman of Michika Local Government, Musa Isa, said the delegation had come primarily to appreciate Governor Fintiri rather than make demands.
He highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of the Mubi-Michika road as one of the major interventions that had positively affected the people of Michika.
Isa described Fintiri as a “son of Michika by extension” and pledged the support of the people of the area for whatever political direction the governor chooses ahead of 2027.
“Whatever you choose, whatever you show, whatever you say, that is what we will do in Michika,” he said.
Other speakers expressed confidence in Adamu Kamale, saying his emergence had received the support of stakeholders from the northern zone.
Responding to the stakeholders, Governor Fintiri urged the people of Adamawa Northern Senatorial District to remain united and work together ahead of the 2027 elections.
The governor called for unity across ethnic, religious and political lines, stressing that no single ethnic group or religion could produce a governor in Adamawa State without cooperation from others.
Fintiri also recalled the devastation suffered by communities in the northern part of Adamawa as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency, saying the region deserved increased attention and development.
The governor further declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term, urging the people of the northern zone to support the President.
The gathering ended with the stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to political unity and collective mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
