The Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting quality basic education following a request for assistance from the management of the Nigerian Air Force Primary School, Yola.
The commitment was made when a delegation from the school paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of ADSUBEB, Dr Murtala Umar Babayi, at the Board’s headquarters in Yola.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr Onojah Joseph Otolipa commended ADSUBEB for its achievements in improving basic education across Adamawa State. He said the visit was aimed at updating the Board on the school’s activities, achievements, and areas requiring support to enhance teaching and learning.
Flight Lieutenant I. M. Sa’idu also praised Dr Babayi for his commitment to educational development and expressed confidence that ADSUBEB would continue to support initiatives that improve learning outcomes and provide a conducive environment for pupils.
In his response, Dr Babayi assured the delegation that the Board would continue to support programmes that promote quality, inclusive, and equitable basic education across the state.
As an immediate intervention, he approved the provision of classroom chairs for the Early Childhood Care Development and Education (ECCDE) section of the school. He also disclosed that ADSUBEB would explore extending the Agricultural Education Training (AET) Programme to the school to equip pupils with practical agricultural skills.
Dr Babayi commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his sustained investment in the education sector, noting that the administration’s commitment has continued to improve school infrastructure, strengthen teacher development, and expand access to quality education across Adamawa State.
He stressed that lasting progress in education depends on strong collaboration among government institutions, school authorities, development partners, and communities, reaffirming ADSUBEB’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that will further strengthen basic education in the state.
