Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has officially received the documents to the house promised by the Federal Government to members of Nigeria’s victorious 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad.
The presentation was confirmed on Monday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) through its official social media platforms.
During the ceremony, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, accompanied by the federation’s Director of Competitions, Ruth David, handed over the property documents to the Paris FC goalkeeper.
Sharing photographs from the presentation, the federation stated that the housing allocation fulfilled part of the Federal Government’s reward package announced after Nigeria’s historic continental triumph.
Although Nnadozie has now received her documents, the federation has yet to confirm whether the remaining members of the title-winning squad have also collected theirs.
The Super Falcons secured a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title after producing a dramatic comeback from two goals down to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final.
Following the memorable victory, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced generous rewards for the team, including $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for every member of the technical crew, and a house for every member of the championship-winning squad.
While the financial rewards and housing packages were announced immediately after the victory, the players had waited several months before the first official presentation of the housing documents.
Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, had earlier explained that the presentation was intentionally scheduled to coincide with the Super Falcons’ assembly for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.
According to Dikko, the decision was aimed at boosting the players’ morale ahead of their title defence.
“I am travelling from Glasgow to Morocco to present the keys to the houses promised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the team’s WAFCON victory. The $100,000 cash rewards have also been paid into the players’ respective bank accounts,” Dikko said.
He added that the delay was deliberate to ensure the players could receive the recognition together before the start of another major continental campaign.
The NSC chairman also confirmed that all cash rewards had been processed and paid following the completion of the necessary administrative procedures.
Nigeria heads into the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as defending champions and Africa’s most successful women’s national team, having won the competition a record 10 times.
The Super Falcons will begin their Group C campaign against Malawi before facing Zambia and Egypt as they seek to capture an unprecedented 11th continental title.
Beyond continental glory, the tournament also serves as Africa’s qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the four semi-finalists earning automatic qualification while one additional nation will advance through the intercontinental play-offs.
With government promises now beginning to materialise, the Super Falcons will hope the renewed support provides additional motivation as they chase another chapter of African football history.
