Arzikin Noma Africa has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers across Nigeria, calling for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive agricultural development, improve food security and enhance rural livelihoods.

The organization made the appeal during a stakeholder engagement focused on advancing sustainable agriculture and strengthening support systems for farmers, particularly smallholder producers who form the backbone of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Officials of Arzikin Noma Africa said partnerships between government institutions, private investors, development organizations and farming communities are essential to addressing the challenges confronting the sector, including limited access to finance, modern farming technologies, quality inputs and reliable markets.

The organization stressed that coordinated investments in agriculture would not only increase food production but also create employment opportunities, reduce poverty and stimulate economic growth across rural communities.

Arzikin Noma Africa reiterated its commitment to empowering farmers through capacity building programmes, improved access to agricultural inputs, climate smart farming practices and initiatives designed to enhance productivity and resilience against climate related challenges.

The group also emphasized the importance of expanding extension services and promoting the adoption of innovative technologies that can help farmers improve yields while reducing production costs.

Stakeholders at the event highlighted the need for policies that encourage private sector investment in agriculture, strengthen agricultural value chains and improve infrastructure, including irrigation systems, storage facilities and transportation networks.

They noted that sustainable collaboration among governments, financial institutions, agribusinesses and development partners is crucial to achieving long term food security and building a more resilient agricultural economy.

The organization expressed optimism that increased cooperation between the public and private sectors would accelerate agricultural transformation, improve farmers’ incomes and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s broader economic development agenda.
