The political landscape ahead of the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election has attracted fresh attention following the publication of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) updated final list of governorship candidates on October 31, 2026.
A review of the updated Adamawa State list shows that Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, who was previously listed as the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), is no longer included.
The earlier list had identified Haske as the APM governorship candidate, with Onatola Morakinyo Safriel as his running mate. However, neither the APM governorship ticket nor the names of its candidates appear in the updated Adamawa list published on INEC’s website.
The updated document contains 17 governorship tickets, compared with the 18 tickets reported in the earlier list.
The updated INEC document retains candidates from several political parties, including the APC, ADC, PDP, Labour Party, NNPP, SDP, APGA and others. However, the APM ticket previously associated with Haske is absent.
The development has raised questions about the status of Haske’s governorship ambition and the circumstances surrounding the omission of the APM ticket.
While the updated list confirms the absence of Haske and the APM ticket, the document does not state why they were omitted.
It would therefore be premature to conclude that Haske has been disqualified or that his political ambition has formally ended without further clarification from INEC or the affected party.
VistaOne News will continue to monitor developments and seek clarification from the electoral commission and the APM leadership.
Does the omission signal the end of Haske’s 2027 governorship ambition, or is there another development behind the disappearance of the APM ticket from INEC’s updated list?
The coming days may provide further clarity.
