The suspects were apprehended around 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, in the NEPA area of Jos by troops attached to Sector 1 of the military operation.

The arrest was confirmed on Wednesday by the operation’s Media Information Officer, Captain Chinonso Oteh, who explained that the suspects were linked to the attack on vigilante personnel and the subsequent destruction of their office by fire.

According to Oteh, both individuals remain in custody as investigations continue, with further action expected based on the findings.

He noted that the arrests form part of ongoing military efforts to curb criminal activities and strengthen security across Plateau State.

The military also assured residents that security operations would be intensified to identify and apprehend individuals involved in activities threatening public safety.

Residents were encouraged to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent crime and support the arrest of suspects.

The military emphasised that public cooperation remains essential to maintaining peace and stability throughout the state

The arrest of the two suspects highlights ongoing security challenges in Plateau State and the efforts of security forces to bring those responsible for attacks to justice. It also shows the importance of protecting local vigilante groups that assist in maintaining peace and security.
