The rescue operation for abducted National Youth Service Corps members has reportedly been delayed after security operatives encountered threats involving improvised explosive devices along the route leading to the area where the victims are believed to be held.

Security agencies are said to be exercising caution as they work to locate and rescue the corps members without exposing them or the rescue teams to additional danger.

The development has raised concerns over the security situation surrounding the abduction and the possibility that the kidnappers may have planted explosives to prevent security forces from advancing into their hideout.

Efforts are reportedly ongoing to assess the threat, secure the area and create a safe route for the rescue operation.

The abduction of the corps members has generated public concern, with families and colleagues calling for urgent action by security agencies to secure their release.

Authorities have continued to gather intelligence and coordinate operations aimed at locating the victims and apprehending those responsible for the kidnapping.
