The Universal Boxing Council (UBC) is set to stage the second episode of its “Night of Champions” series on September 26, with international and continental title fights headlining an action-packed boxing programme.
According to the organisers, Episode 2 will feature an international bout involving fighters from different countries, alongside a UBC African title contest that will see leading contenders battle for continental honours.
The event will also provide a platform for some of Nigeria’s finest boxing talents as the UBC continues its efforts to create more opportunities for fighters to compete at championship level.
Organisers said the second edition is designed to build on the success of the inaugural event and deliver another exciting night for boxing fans.
The UBC has already turned its attention to Episode 3, which has been given the name “The Banga” and is being planned as the biggest event of the season.
According to the council, the proposed third episode will feature UBC African, international and world title fights, as well as two Nigerian national championship bouts involving female boxers.
The card is also expected to include a heavyweight contest featuring Blessing Chukwuede and a welterweight bout involving Precious Anime.
Although the venue for Episode 3 has yet to be confirmed, the National Stadium in Lagos and a venue in Apapa have emerged as the leading options.
The UBC is also inviting sponsors and advertisers interested in supporting the boxing series to make contact through Nanmet Promotions.
Meanwhile, fighters, managers and agents hoping to secure a place on the Episode 3 card have been encouraged to contact the organisation’s matchmakers for consideration.
With Episode 2 approaching, the UBC hopes the latest instalment will further strengthen its championship series and provide Nigerian and international boxers with a platform to compete for major honours.
