The Edo State Government has warned that health facilities found operating below stipulated standards will face fines and possible permanent closure.
The government issued the warning on Tuesday as part of efforts to strengthen regulation, improve healthcare delivery and protect residents from unsafe or substandard medical services.
Authorities said operators of health facilities are expected to comply with approved standards covering infrastructure, staffing, equipment, hygiene and quality of care.
The government stressed that facilities that fail to meet the required standards or disregard regulatory directives would face sanctions, including financial penalties and closure.
It urged owners and managers of health facilities across the state to ensure full compliance with existing regulations and maintain acceptable standards of healthcare delivery.
