aggrieved APC leaders and former party members in at least 10 states have reportedly aligned with Wike’s coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The report identified states including Kwara, Gombe, Cross River, Osun, Katsina, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Ogun, Jigawa and Ondo, where some APC figures have either defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or expressed support for Wike’s political platform.

The development has intensified disagreements within the APC, particularly between supporters of the Rainbow Coalition and members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.

While Wike’s supporters describe the coalition as an alternative platform for aggrieved politicians, critics within the APC have raised concerns about its potential impact on the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

The political realignment continues to attract attention as parties and political leaders prepare for the next general elections.
