Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML is strengthening its position at the heart of the global chip industry as major manufacturers increasingly turn to its next-generation High Numerical Aperture (High-NA) extreme ultraviolet lithography technology.
ASML’s advanced EUV machines are essential for producing some of the world’s most sophisticated chips, particularly those used in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. The company’s latest High-NA systems are designed to print smaller and more complex features, potentially improving chip performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Major chipmakers, including TSMC, Samsung, SK Hynix and Intel, are moving toward greater use of High-NA technology. While the systems are significantly more expensive than existing EUV machines, growing demand for increasingly powerful and energy-efficient chips is encouraging manufacturers to invest in the technology.
The shift further strengthens ASML’s unique position in semiconductor manufacturing. As chipmakers race to meet rising demand driven by AI and advanced computing, ASML’s lithography systems are expected to remain a critical part of the global semiconductor supply chain.
