The approvals were announced after the Council meeting at the weekend by the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade.

The Council approved the reconstruction of the 4.87 kilometre Siun Junction to Iperu Junction Road, linking Obafemi Owode and Ikenne local government areas, as well as the 4.87 kilometre Simawa to Lukosi and Ogijo Road in Sagamu Local Government Area.

In the health sector, the government approved the construction of new general hospitals in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area, and Aiyepe, Odogbolu Local Government Area. The projects are expected to expand access to healthcare as demand increases across the state.

The Council also approved the establishment of the Ogun State Enterprise Development Agency to coordinate support for MSMEs, promote entrepreneurship, improve access to business opportunities and help small businesses expand and create jobs.

In the energy sector, Ogun approved the adoption of Gateway Power Limited as part of the state’s plan to participate in power generation and improve electricity supply for its growing industrial and commercial sector.

The Council also approved the appointment of Otunba Osunsina Olumide John as the new Olu of Ifo in Ifo Local Government Area.

The latest decisions cover key areas of Ogun’s development agenda, with the government saying the projects are aimed at improving transportation, healthcare, electricity supply, business development and economic growth.
