Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s approach to governance, claiming that the President does not believe in the idea of a united Nigeria.

Obi, however, reaffirmed his own commitment to a united country, stressing the importance of national unity, equity and equal opportunities for Nigerians regardless of their region or background.

He said Nigeria’s progress depends on building a country where citizens feel included and where leadership is guided by fairness, accountability and the common good.

The former Anambra State governor’s remarks come amid renewed political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
