The Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy has declined to comment on an allegation that N835.15 million was spent on the purchase of six official and operational vehicles.

According to a report by The Guardian, the payment was allegedly made to Kaura Motors Nigeria Limited on December 21, 2025, for the procurement of the vehicles.

The report said attempts to obtain clarification from the ministry were unsuccessful. The Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Bolaji Akinola, reportedly did not respond to messages seeking his reaction, while officials in the ministry’s media unit said they were not authorised to comment.

The allegation comes amid scrutiny of other payments linked to the ministry, including expenses on foreign trips, air tickets, refreshments, venue rentals and honorariums in 2024.
