Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje has denied reports suggesting that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Goje, a former governor of Gombe State and current senator representing Gombe Central, urged his supporters to disregard the rumours and remain calm, saying they should await further instructions from him.
The clarification comes amid growing political realignments and defections among politicians across the country as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
Goje has remained a prominent figure in Gombe politics, with his political activities closely watched as parties position themselves ahead of the elections. Reports of possible movements by major political figures have continued to fuel speculation within the APC and opposition parties.
The senator’s latest position is that he remains with the APC and that any decision concerning his political future will be communicated directly to his supporters.
The development is expected to further ease speculation surrounding Goje’s political plans as the 2027 elections draw closer.
