Harry and Meghan Reportedly Plan Return to Britain After Six Years in US

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are reportedly planning to return to Britain this month for an extended stay, six years after stepping down as working royals and relocating to California.

A source close to the couple said Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, would move with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, who are expected to begin school in Britain in September. The couple will reportedly remain non working royals and will not live in a royal residence.

King Charles is said to welcome having his son and grandchildren closer, although reports indicate he was only informed of the plans on Sunday. Relations between Charles and Harry have appeared to improve in recent months, with the father and son meeting in September and Charles seeing his grandchildren during a family visit to Britain last month.

However, Harry’s relationship with his elder brother, Prince William, remains strained following years of public criticism of the royal family and revelations made in interviews, a Netflix documentary and Harry’s memoir, Spare.

Harry and Meghan left Britain in March 2020, citing intense media scrutiny and a desire for greater independence. Since settling in California, they have pursued media and business ventures, including deals with Spotify and Netflix, with mixed commercial success.

Neither Harry’s spokesperson nor Buckingham Palace commented on the reported move.
