The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated five refurbished operational vehicles and protective equipment to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), 651 Base Services Group, to strengthen security operations and enhance personnel welfare in Lagos State.
The donation included ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats as part of the Lagos State Government’s continued support for security agencies in addressing emerging security challenges.
Presenting the items, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, said the intervention reflects the Trust Fund’s commitment to ensuring that frontline security personnel are adequately equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Ogunsan commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and dedication to safeguarding lives and property, assuring the personnel of the Lagos State Government’s continued support.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu, he said the state government remains committed to strengthening the operational capacity of security agencies through the provision of critical equipment and logistics.
He noted that investing in the welfare and protection of security personnel is essential to building a resilient security system capable of responding effectively to evolving threats.
Receiving the vehicles and equipment, the Commander of the Nigerian Air Force, 651 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Mohammed A. Imam, expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the LSSTF for their sustained partnership and support.
He said the operational vehicles and protective gear would significantly improve the safety, mobility and operational effectiveness of Air Force personnel deployed across Lagos State.
The visit also featured a tour of the 651 Base Services Group’s facilities, where the commander showcased the unit’s operational capabilities and contributions to national security.
