ran said it had launched missile strikes targeting Prince Hassan Air Base and King Faisal Air Base in Jordan, claiming the facilities were being used to support U.S. military operations in the region.
Iranian state media said the strikes formed part of Tehran’s response to ongoing U.S. military action, asserting that the bases were legitimate military targets because of their alleged role in supporting American operations.
Jordanian authorities did not immediately confirm that the bases had been hit or report any casualties or damage. The Jordanian Armed Forces said they were monitoring the situation and reiterated that the kingdom would respond to any violation of its sovereignty.
The reported strikes come amid escalating tensions across the Middle East as the conflict between the United States and Iran widens, raising concerns that neighbouring countries could be drawn further into the confrontation. Jordan, a key U.S. ally, hosts American military personnel and has previously stressed that it does not want its territory to become a battleground in regional conflicts.
Military analysts said independent verification of Iran’s claims was not immediately available, and the extent of any damage remained unclear. Regional governments and international leaders have continued urging restraint, warning that further escalation could threaten stability across the Middle East.
