Dangote Group is exploring opportunities to expand its industrial investments into Egypt, in a move that could strengthen economic relations between Nigeria and one of Africa’s largest economies.

The development follows a visit by a high-level Egyptian delegation led by the country’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr Mohamed Saleh, to the Dangote Industries complex in Lagos.

The delegation, which included officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and senior executives from its oil and petrochemical industry, held discussions with Dangote Group executives on potential investment partnerships, industrial collaboration and capacity expansion.

President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, described the engagement as an opportunity to advance African economic integration and strengthen industrial development across the continent.

He said African businesses must increasingly invest across national borders to accelerate industrialisation, create economic value and promote sustainable development.

Saleh said the visit was aimed at translating existing diplomatic and business engagements between Nigeria and Egypt into concrete investment opportunities.

He expressed interest in Dangote Group’s industrial capabilities, particularly in petroleum refining, petrochemicals, fertiliser production and related manufacturing activities.

According to the minister, Nigeria’s energy resources and Egypt’s established industrial base offer opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships in manufacturing, energy and other strategic sectors.

The discussions form part of Dangote Group’s broader Vision 2030 expansion strategy, which seeks to strengthen its industrial presence across Africa and develop globally competitive manufacturing operations.

Although the discussions indicate growing interest in cross-border investment, specific projects, financial commitments and implementation timelines have not been announced.

The potential expansion could deepen commercial ties between Nigeria and Egypt while creating opportunities for investment, technology transfer, employment and industrial development across Africa.
