The Patriotic Movement for Asiwaju (PMA), a support group aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC), has pledged to mobilise more than two million voters for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The group’s National Coordinator, Hajia Zainab Cengiz Abbas, announced the target during a press briefing in Abuja, stating that the movement had established structures across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to strengthen grassroots mobilisation.
Abbas said the group’s nationwide presence and experience from the 2023 general election would support its efforts to engage communities and encourage eligible voters to participate in the forthcoming election.
She also defended the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, arguing that the policies were intended to address longstanding economic challenges and promote sustainable development.
Acknowledging that the reforms have created short-term difficulties for some Nigerians, Abbas urged citizens to remain patient while the government pursues its economic agenda.
She added that the PMA would intensify community engagement, voter education and mobilisation activities in the months leading up to the election.
The group’s two-million-voter target represents its stated mobilisation objective, although achieving it will depend on the effectiveness of its grassroots activities and voter engagement efforts.
As political organisations prepare for the 2027 elections, such mobilisation initiatives are expected to feature prominently in efforts by parties and affiliated groups to expand their support bases.
