Segun Ogunwuyi, the Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has resigned from his position in the state government, effective Monday, October 12, 2026.
Ogunwuyi announced his decision in a resignation letter dated October 12, expressing gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve the government and people of Oyo State.
In the letter, he described his time in the administration as an honour and said he was proud to have contributed to the government’s efforts to promote the growth and development of the state.
He also expressed confidence in Oyo State’s continued progress and reaffirmed his loyalty to the state and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
However, Ogunwuyi did not disclose any specific reason for his resignation.
His departure comes amid the resignation of several political appointees from Makinde’s administration over the past two months, drawing attention to changes within the state government ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogunwuyi previously served as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives before becoming the governor’s Chief of Staff.
