Italian energy storage startup Energy Dome is in advanced talks with European and US investors to raise several hundred million euros to fund expansion, Chief Executive Claudio Spadacini said.
The Milan based company plans to expand its operations and invest directly in new projects as it works to increase revenue from its carbon dioxide based energy storage technology.
Spadacini said the company’s capital needs have grown beyond the €200 million it has already raised because of contracts it has secured. Negotiations with investors for significant new funding are at an advanced stage.
Energy Dome expects revenue of €30 million to €40 million in 2026, while long term contracts could generate several billion euros in recurring revenue.
The company is also keeping open the possibility of an initial public offering, although the timing and location of any listing will depend on market conditions and the investors participating in the current funding round.
Energy Dome is expanding projects across Italy. At its new manufacturing facility in Piacenza, the company plans to invest €6.5 million by 2028, increasing production capacity and raising its workforce from about 30 employees to between 80 and 90.
