Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called on Nigerians to remain united and committed to the development of the country as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Makinde urged citizens to look beyond their differences and work together to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
The governor said Nigeria’s progress depends on collective efforts, responsible leadership and the willingness of citizens to contribute positively to national development.
He also highlighted some of the achievements recorded by his administration in Oyo State, particularly in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development.
Makinde said the achievements demonstrated what could be accomplished when public resources were properly managed and directed towards projects that improve the lives of citizens.
He encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the challenges facing the country, noting that the nation has the human and natural resources needed to achieve sustainable development.
The governor called for greater cooperation among political leaders, communities and citizens, stressing that unity remained essential to addressing insecurity, unemployment, poverty and other challenges.
He congratulated Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary and urged citizens to continue supporting efforts aimed at strengthening democracy and improving the country.
