The Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate for Anambra South in the 2027 general election, Prince Samben Nwosu, has pledged to prioritise job creation, sustainable empowerment and grassroots development if elected.
Nwosu, a former organising secretary of the PDP and former Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission, made the pledge during an interaction with journalists at his country home in Nnewi.
He said his proposed representation would focus on addressing the socio-economic challenges facing residents across the seven local government areas in Anambra South.
The candidate promised to introduce an empowerment model that would provide constituents with sustainable economic opportunities rather than temporary assistance during election periods.
Nwosu also pledged that each of the seven local government areas would have a signature project under his proposed representation.
He said his legislative agenda would focus on initiatives that directly affect the daily lives and businesses of residents, while also prioritising youth development, education and support for local businesses.
He further urged voters to reject vote buying and electoral manipulation, saying his campaign would engage particularly with young people to understand their socio-economic challenges.
Anambra South comprises Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Orumba North, Orumba South, Nnewi North and Nnewi South Local Government Areas.
