The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has said his company is prepared to face legal action over the ongoing controversy surrounding fuel imports into Nigeria.
Dangote said the company was not afraid of litigation and would defend its position through the appropriate legal channels if necessary.
His comments come amid growing disagreements over fuel imports, domestic refining and the operations of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
The refinery has continued to push for increased reliance on locally refined petroleum products, while debates over the importation of refined fuel have remained a major issue in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector.
Dangote said the company remained committed to supporting Nigeria’s energy security and reducing dependence on imported petroleum products.
He maintained that the refinery was capable of supplying significant volumes of refined products to the Nigerian market and contributing to the development of the country’s refining capacity.
