Tesla has secured approval to deploy its supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in Croatia, opening the way for a rollout across the country in the near future.
Croatia becomes the latest European market to approve the technology as Tesla expands the availability of its advanced driving system across the continent. The system can perform a range of driving tasks but still requires an attentive human driver to supervise its operation.
The approval comes as Tesla seeks broader regulatory acceptance for FSD in Europe, where the company faces increasing competition from Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturers and is looking to strengthen its position in the regional market.
The Netherlands approved the system earlier this year, while Belgium and several other European countries have subsequently followed. However, the wider European rollout remains subject to regulatory discussions, with concerns raised in some countries over how the system handles speed limits and other driving conditions.
An EU-wide decision has also been delayed, with the next apparent opportunity for a vote now expected no earlier than December. Approval at EU level would require a qualified majority of member states representing at least 65% of the bloc’s population.
