Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Nigeria after representing President Bola Tinubu at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Shettima led Nigeria’s delegation to the high-level gathering, where he participated in discussions on global development, economic cooperation, peace and security, climate change and reforms to international institutions.
During the engagements, the Vice President reiterated Nigeria’s position on the need for greater African representation in global decision-making and called for stronger partnerships to advance development across the continent.
He also held bilateral and high-level meetings with world leaders, international organisations and development partners, focusing on areas including investment, education, regional integration and economic growth.
His return marks the conclusion of Nigeria’s participation in this year’s UN General Assembly, where the country highlighted its priorities and sought to strengthen international partnerships.
