The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has responded to calls for the disqualification of House of Representatives member Kingsley Chinda, following the Supreme Court’s judgment on the state’s political and electoral affairs.
The controversy centres on Chinda, an ally of former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, with some political stakeholders questioning his eligibility in light of the court ruling.
The APC said the issues surrounding the Supreme Court judgment should be addressed in accordance with the law, while urging all parties involved to respect the decisions of the judiciary.
The development has generated fresh political discussions in Rivers State as parties and their supporters continue to position themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
The party maintained that any question concerning eligibility or disqualification should be determined through the appropriate legal and constitutional processes.
