The Lamido of Adamawa has conferred the traditional title of Tafidan Adamawa on the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Hon. Awwal D. Tukur.
As reported by the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT and e-Gov. Dr Hammajam Ahmed Adamu the conferment was formally communicated to the SSG when a delegation of the Adamawa Emirate Council, led by the Madaki Adamawa and the Secretary of the Emirate Council, presented the official letter conveying the decision of His Royal Highness.
Hon. Awwal Tukur succeeds his late father, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who previously held the title of Tafidan Adamawa and was recognised for his years of service to the Adamawa Emirate, Adamawa State and Nigeria.
The new appointment continues the Tukur family’s longstanding association with public service and leadership in the state.
The conferment has been widely regarded as a continuation of a respected legacy, with Hon. Awwal Tukur expected to carry forward the responsibilities associated with the traditional title.
