A United Kingdom Government-backed programme has helped 23 Nigerian businesses secure more than $630 million in investment, with the transactions potentially creating or safeguarding over 21,400 direct jobs.

The milestone was recorded through Manufacturing Africa, which has supported Nigerian businesses since 2019 by improving investment readiness, connecting companies with investors and helping them navigate the fundraising process.

The figures were disclosed at an investment-focused event in Lagos, where the programme also launched a free Fundraising Toolkit designed to help more businesses prepare for investment and access capital.

Manufacturing Africa said it has supported 72 investment opportunities in Nigeria, with 23 reaching financial close. Its wider work across six African countries has covered more than 300 investment opportunities and over 70 financial closes.

The toolkit brings together practical guidance, templates, investor insights and lessons from completed transactions, giving businesses resources to improve their investment readiness and engage potential financiers.

British officials said the initiative demonstrates how targeted investment facilitation can help businesses expand, attract capital and generate employment.

Manufacturing Africa, funded by the UK through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, said its broader programme has mobilised more than £2 billion in foreign direct investment across its African markets.

For Nigeria, the latest figures highlight the potential of investment-readiness programmes to connect businesses with international capital while supporting industrial expansion and job creation.
