The British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) Foundation has empowered 200 women in Jigawa State with poultry birds, feed and medication as part of efforts to support livelihoods and promote economic empowerment.
The initiative is designed to help beneficiaries establish or strengthen poultry businesses, improve household income and create sustainable sources of livelihood.
The women received poultry birds alongside essential feeds and medication needed to support the early stages of their poultry ventures.
The programme is also expected to contribute to improved economic participation among women in the state by providing them with productive resources and opportunities to build small-scale businesses.
