An 11-year-old boy is in serious condition after being shot in the face and neck inside a home in Norwest, north-west Sydney, Australia.
Police were called to a property on Fairway Drive shortly after 5pm on Monday following reports of a shooting. Officers found the injured boy at the scene, where paramedics provided emergency treatment before taking him to hospital for further care.
Five other people were inside the home when the shooting occurred, including a 44-year-old woman and four 18-year-old men. They were not injured. Three of the young men were arrested and are assisting police with the investigation.
Police said initial inquiries indicate the shooting happened inside the home. Investigators are working to establish how the firearm came to be there and what led to the incident. A crime scene has been established as investigations continue.
