Algeria Severs Diplomatic Relations With UAE

Algeria has severed diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates, saying all efforts to preserve ties between the two countries had been exhausted.

Algerian state television announced the decision on Thursday but did not provide specific details about what led to the diplomatic break.

Algerian media have previously accused the UAE of contributing to regional tensions and attempting to create divisions in the region.

The move marks a major deterioration in relations between the two North African and Gulf countries.
