The police have arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary incident where a stolen iPhone was sold for just N25,000. According to authorities, the suspects were apprehended after investigations linked them to the break-in, during which several valuables were carted away.
The stolen iPhone, valued much higher in the market, was quickly disposed of at a fraction of its worth, raising concerns about the growing black market for stolen goods. Police sources revealed that the suspects confessed to selling the device cheaply to avoid detection, but their actions ultimately led to their arrest.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that the case highlights the dangers of patronizing stolen property, noting that buyers of such items could also face prosecution. The police reiterated their commitment to tackling burglary and theft, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
