Premier League clubs are entering a frantic final stretch as they race to complete major transfers before the summer window closes on Tuesday at 23:00 BST, with several high-profile moves still unresolved.

Among the biggest names whose futures could be decided before the deadline are Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez and Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo.

The final hours of the window could also see significant movement involving Jack Grealish, Joshua Zirkzee, Iliman Ndiaye, Richarlison and other players as clubs attempt to complete their squads.

Alvarez Wanted by Arsenal and Barcelona

Julian Alvarez remains at the centre of one of the biggest transfer sagas, with Arsenal and Barcelona both interested in the Argentina international.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly reluctant to sell the 26-year-old to Barcelona but would be more open to negotiating with Arsenal.

The Spanish club are believed to value Alvarez at around €150m (£128m), a figure that could make any deal extremely difficult to complete before the deadline.

Speculation over his future intensified after Alvarez missed several training sessions and was omitted from Atletico’s squad for their meeting with Sevilla.

Manchester City Monitor Fernandez

Manchester City are keeping a close eye on Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as uncertainty grows over his future at Stamford Bridge.

The Argentina international was absent from Chelsea’s Premier League victory over Brighton on Sunday, fuelling further speculation that City could make a late move.

A potential deal could surpass Manchester City’s existing club-record transfer fee after the Premier League champions reportedly paid £116m for Elliot Anderson earlier in the summer.

Chelsea Consider Camara Replacement

Chelsea could move quickly for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara if Fernandez leaves the club.

The Senegal international, who has already earned 49 caps for his country, has emerged as a possible replacement and could become Chelsea’s 13th signing of the summer.

The Blues are also expected to remain active on deadline day, with several players potentially departing either permanently or on loan.

Gakpo Attracts Manchester City and Tottenham Interest

Manchester City have opened discussions with Liverpool over Cody Gakpo, with the Netherlands international reportedly receptive to the possibility of moving to the Etihad Stadium.

City are prepared to offer approximately £85m for the forward, while Tottenham Hotspur are also interested.

Gakpo is reportedly more attracted to a move to Manchester City, but Liverpool are reluctant to sanction his departure unless they can secure another attacking addition alongside their pursuit of Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool Turn to Ismaila Sarr

Liverpool have identified Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr as another attacking target as they look to strengthen their forward options.

The Reds previously saw two offers for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh rejected, with Brighton reportedly demanding more than the £60m Liverpool offered.

Liverpool also made an enquiry about Sarr, although Crystal Palace initially rejected their approach.

Richarlison and Ndiaye Could Switch Clubs

Tottenham and Everton are progressing with discussions over a possible transfer involving Iliman Ndiaye, while Richarlison could move in the opposite direction.

A deal for Ndiaye is understood to be largely agreed, although Manchester City’s interest could still affect the situation.

Everton have also reached an agreement in principle to re-sign Richarlison. The Brazilian forward is reportedly keen to leave Tottenham after entering the final year of his contract.

Grealish Eyes Another Everton Loan

Jack Grealish is increasingly expected to return to Everton on loan from Manchester City.

The England international spent last season at Goodison Park and is reportedly favouring another spell with Everton over a return to Aston Villa, the club where he began his professional career.

Aston Villa have also expressed interest in bringing Grealish back, but Everton currently appear to be in the stronger position.

Newcastle Pursue Fernandez-Pardo

Newcastle United remain interested in Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo as manager Matthias Jaissle seeks another attacking option.

The 21-year-old fits Newcastle’s preferred recruitment profile and can play in several positions across the frontline.

Lille left Fernandez-Pardo out of their squad for their weekend clash against Paris Saint-Germain and have reportedly kept him away from first-team training until the transfer window closes, adding to speculation about a possible departure.

Zirkzee Could Leave Manchester United

Manchester United could also see late movement involving Joshua Zirkzee, particularly if there is no breakthrough concerning Marcus Rashford.

Fiorentina are interested in taking the Netherlands striker on loan with an option to buy.

United, however, would prefer a permanent transfer or, at minimum, a loan agreement that includes an obligation to purchase the player.

With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, clubs across the Premier League face a race against time to finalise their remaining deals.

The final hours could produce a flurry of late moves as clubs attempt to strengthen their squads, balance their finances and avoid being left short when the window finally shuts.
