The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has warned Nigerians against a fake online recruitment notice claiming that the commission has commenced the recruitment and training of ad hoc staff for the 2027 General Election.
According to a statement issued on Monday, INEC said the notice circulating online directs prospective applicants to a website purportedly created for the recruitment exercise but stressed that the information did not originate from the commission.
The electoral body described the website as fraudulent and urged members of the public not to click on the link, submit personal information, upload documents or make payments through the platform.
INEC said its official recruitment and election related announcements are published only through its verified communication channels and official website.
The commission advised Nigerians seeking authentic information about recruitment and the 2027 election to rely strictly on its official platforms and verify online information before taking any action.
INEC also recalled that it had previously warned the public about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements being circulated in its name.
The commission urged Nigerians to disregard and stop circulating the fake notice, warning them to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of online recruitment opportunities before providing personal information or making payments.
