Arsenal have officially confirmed their squad numbers for the 2026/27 Premier League season, with new arrivals Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier among the players handed numbers ahead of the new campaign.

The Gunners announced the updated squad numbers on Tuesday following a busy summer that saw several changes to the title-winning squad.

Arsenal explained that departures and new arrivals had resulted in a reshuffle, with several shirt numbers becoming available for the new season.

“Ahead of the 2026/27 season, we have seen some new faces arrive while other members of our title-winning squad have left for pastures new,” the club said.

“That has led to some rejigging of our squad numbers, with some left vacant while others have stepped in to add to each shirt’s history.”

Guimaraes has been allocated the No. 39 shirt, a number he has traditionally worn as a tribute to his father, whose taxi in Brazil carried the same number.

Tzolis will wear No. 17, a shirt previously worn by Oleksandr Zinchenko and famously associated with Arsenal legends such as Alexis Sanchez and Emmanuel Petit.

Goalkeeper Meslier has been handed the No. 30 shirt, which was last worn by Raheem Sterling during the 2024/25 campaign. Eddie Nketiah and Yossi Benayoun are among the other players who previously wore the number.

Arsenal also confirmed that the departures of Jakub Kiwior, Christian Norgaard and Leandro Trossard left Nos. 15, 16 and 19 available, while No. 18 was also vacant.

The club noted that shirt numbers 25, 26, 27 and 28 had remained unused for the past couple of seasons.

Arsenal’s 2026/27 Squad Numbers

The new numbers complete another major step in Arsenal’s preparations for the 2026/27 campaign as the club looks to build on its title-winning season.

With several new faces joining an established core, the revised shirt numbers offer a fresh chapter for Arsenal as they prepare to defend their Premier League crown and compete on multiple fronts.
