Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has reassured supporters that he is doing well after revealing that he has been diagnosed with brief, temporary episodes of absence linked to a neurological dysfunction.
The 23-year-old Bayern star addressed fans directly on Instagram on Tuesday, thanking them for their messages and support following concerns over his health.
“First things first, I’m doing well! I’m especially grateful for all your messages and support,” Musiala wrote.
The Germany international explained that the condition could be responsible for some of the worrying moments he has experienced during recent matches, including encounters against Leipzig and Heidenheim.
“I know that these moments can look scary at first, but for me, they are currently part of my everyday life,” he said.
Musiala revealed that he is receiving specialist medical attention and remains positive about his recovery.
He also thanked Bayern Munich and those closest to him for their continued support as he manages the condition.
According to the midfielder, there is “no additional health risk” beyond the condition he described.
Musiala said he had consulted regularly with specialists and received clearance from neurological experts to continue playing football.
“It was my personal wish to face this challenge and, with the approval of the neurological specialists, continue doing what helps me most in my recovery: simply living my everyday life and continuing to pursue my passion of playing football,” he said.
The Bayern star added that he remains optimistic about his progress and believes staying active with his teammates is beneficial to his recovery.
“Overall, I have a very good feeling, and I’m on a good path,” Musiala said.
“What helps me most along the way is continuing to chase victories with my team and with your incredible support.”
Musiala also appealed to supporters and the wider public to respect his privacy, explaining that he wants further details about his condition to remain within his immediate circle, Bayern Munich and his medical specialists.
The midfielder concluded by thanking fans for their understanding and continued encouragement.
“I hope this helps you understand me better,” Musiala said.
His message is expected to ease concerns among Bayern supporters as Musiala continues his recovery while remaining involved with the club under the guidance of his medical team.
