South Africa’s anti immigration group, March and March, has announced September 30, 2026, as a fresh deadline for undocumented foreigners to leave the country, as the group staged a protest outside the Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit in Durban on Monday.

The group marched through central Durban under the theme, “It’s time to fetch your people,” calling on African leaders attending the 46th SADC Summit to take responsibility for their citizens living in South Africa without legal documentation.

According to BBC News Pidgin, March and March described the action as the second phase of its June 30 national protest, warning that September 30 would mark what it called the “mother of all protests” if its demands were not addressed.

The group is demanding tougher action against undocumented immigration and urged South Africans to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspected undocumented foreigners.

The protest came as leaders of SADC’s 16 member states gathered in Durban for the 46th Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government.

The development has renewed debate over the treatment of foreign nationals in South Africa, particularly citizens from other African countries.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa recently condemned discrimination and violence against foreigners, saying the country could not promote regional integration at international forums while practising exclusion within its communities.

March and March had previously staged nationwide protests on June 30, demanding stronger government action on undocumented immigration. The protests were followed by security operations and reports of attacks and looting in some areas.

The latest demonstration has placed the immigration debate directly outside a major regional summit, with the group calling on SADC leaders to address the presence and treatment of their citizens in South Africa.
