Nintendo is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, with its Switch consoles set to officially launch in Indonesia in December 2026.

The move marks a significant step for Nintendo as it targets Indonesia’s large and growing gaming market. The company’s official entry is expected to make Nintendo hardware and games more accessible to local consumers through authorized distribution.

The launch is expected to include the Nintendo Switch and newer Switch 2, giving Indonesian gamers access to Nintendo’s latest console ecosystem through official channels.

Local Availability

Until now, Indonesian consumers have often relied on imported Nintendo products and third-party sellers. An official launch could provide greater access to local support, warranties and authorized retail channels.

Nintendo has yet to reveal full details on local pricing, specific retailers and the complete launch lineup. Those details are expected to be announced closer to December.

Why Indonesia Matters

Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia’s largest consumer markets, with a young and increasingly connected population. Its expanding gaming community makes the country an attractive market for major global gaming companies.

Nintendo’s move could also strengthen competition in Indonesia’s console market and give the company a stronger foothold across Southeast Asia.

The December launch will be closely watched as Nintendo seeks to expand the global reach of its Switch platform.
