Air Peace has apologised to passengers following disruptions to its flight operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

According to a statement by the airline’s management, the disruption was caused by an ongoing industrial action by organised labour unions, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The airline said the unions barricaded the entrances to its departure terminals at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1, including the Alpha and Zulu Terminals, as well as Terminal 2 in Lagos.

The blockade also affected access to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport terminal in Abuja, preventing scheduled flights from departing from both cities.

Air Peace said the situation significantly affected passengers scheduled to travel across its network, leaving some passengers stranded and disrupting planned journeys.

The airline apologised to all affected passengers for the inconvenience, describing the disruption as circumstances beyond its control.

It added that passengers scheduled to travel later in the day were being contacted and provided with updates as the situation evolved.
