A US$1 million grant has been approved to strengthen humanitarian assistance in Togo’s Savanes Region, providing critical support to vulnerable communities affected by growing humanitarian challenges and socio-economic pressures.
The funding is expected to bolster emergency response efforts by improving access to essential services, including food assistance, healthcare, clean water, sanitation and protection for vulnerable populations.
The Savanes Region, located in northern Togo, has faced increasing humanitarian needs in recent years due to insecurity, displacement, climate-related shocks and economic hardship. These challenges have placed significant pressure on local communities and public services, underscoring the need for sustained humanitarian intervention.
According to development partners, the grant will help enhance the capacity of humanitarian agencies and local authorities to respond more effectively to the needs of affected populations while strengthening community resilience.
