FRSC Recovers Gun from Anambra Crash SceneThe Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has recovered a double-barrel gun from the scene of a road traffic crash along the Awka–Enugu Expressway in Anambra State.According to the FRSC, the firearm was discovered on Friday during a routine inventory of victims’ belongings by a rescue patrol team after completing rescue operations. The gun was reportedly concealed among luggage inside one of the crashed vehicles. In line with standard procedures, the officers immediately secured the weapon to prevent unauthorized access or misuse. The Corps said no individual came forward to claim ownership of the firearm, and no valid documentation for the weapon was available at the scene. The recovered gun was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and appropriate action. FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended the rescue team for their professionalism and vigilance, noting that the incident highlights the Corps’ contribution to national security beyond its primary responsibility of road safety. He added that FRSC personnel have, on several occasions, recovered dangerous weapons, stolen vehicles, and other security-related items during rescue operations.
