ABUJA, Nigeria — The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has officially launched INFRACON 2026, a major infrastructure investment platform designed to mobilize private capital and accelerate the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
The initiative comes as the country seeks innovative financing solutions to address an estimated $2.3 trillion infrastructure gap, widely regarded as one of the biggest obstacles to sustainable economic growth, industrial development, and improved competitiveness.
Speaking at the launch, NACCIMA emphasized that bridging the infrastructure deficit will require stronger collaboration between government, the private sector, financial institutions, and development partners. The association noted that public resources alone cannot meet Nigeria’s growing infrastructure needs, making private sector participation essential to closing the financing gap.
INFRACON 2026 is expected to serve as a strategic platform for investors, policymakers, infrastructure developers, financiers, and business leaders to identify bankable projects, promote public-private partnerships (PPPs), and explore innovative financing mechanisms capable of unlocking large-scale investments.
The conference will focus on critical sectors including transportation, power and energy, housing, digital infrastructure, water resources, logistics, healthcare, and urban development. These sectors are considered fundamental to boosting productivity, creating jobs, attracting investment, and improving the quality of life for millions of Nigerians.
According to NACCIMA, improving infrastructure remains central to Nigeria’s ambition of becoming one of Africa’s leading investment destinations. The association stressed that efficient roads, modern ports, reliable electricity, digital connectivity, and resilient transport systems are essential for reducing business costs, strengthening supply chains, and supporting economic diversification.
Industry experts have long argued that Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit has constrained economic growth by increasing the cost of doing business and limiting access to markets. They believe greater private sector investment, supported by transparent regulatory frameworks and investor-friendly policies, can significantly accelerate infrastructure development while easing pressure on public finances.
INFRACON 2026 is expected to attract local and international investors, government agencies, multilateral development institutions, engineering firms, construction companies, financial institutions, and technology providers committed to advancing Nigeria’s infrastructure agenda.
The event will also provide opportunities for networking, investment matchmaking, policy dialogue, and the presentation of high-impact infrastructure projects requiring long-term financing. Participants are expected to discuss strategies for improving project preparation, enhancing investment security, and strengthening collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders.
As Nigeria continues to pursue economic diversification and sustainable development, NACCIMA believes INFRACON 2026 will become a catalyst for mobilizing the capital needed to transform the country’s infrastructure landscape and unlock new opportunities for economic growth.
With infrastructure increasingly recognized as the backbone of national development, the launch of INFRACON 2026 signals a renewed commitment to leveraging private investment, innovation, and strategic partnerships to bridge Nigeria’s infrastructure gap and build a more resilient and globally competitive economy.
