The City Boy Movement has attributed the large turnout of young people at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna to its grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Director-General of the movement, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, said the participation of young Nigerians at Saturday’s rally reflected their interest in national development and their desire to take part in shaping the country’s political and economic future.
Shoga explained that the organisation had conducted grassroots engagement activities, including a street walk in Kano, to encourage youth participation and raise awareness about government policies and economic opportunities.
He added that the movement intended to expand its activities nationwide as the election approached, with a focus on public enlightenment, entrepreneurship and peaceful democratic participation.
Shoga also highlighted the commissioning of an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja–Kaduna highway during the campaign event. He said improved road connectivity could create opportunities for agriculture, trade, logistics and employment across the North-West.
However, he noted that infrastructure development would need to be supported by improved security, reliable electricity and policies that encourage investment to achieve its full economic potential.
The movement’s claims about the rally turnout and growing youth interest reflect its own assessment of the event. Attendance at a political gathering alone does not establish broader public opinion or predict the outcome of the 2027 election.
The rally forms part of the APC’s activities in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.
