Inter Milan are reportedly considering a move for Nigeria international goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, with Udinese valuing the 26-year-old at €20m.
According to Italian media reports cited by PUNCH Sports Extra, Inter are reviewing their goalkeeping options and have identified the Udinese shot-stopper as a potential target.
Okoye has established himself in Serie A since joining Udinese, with his performances attracting attention from one of Italy’s most successful clubs. A move to Inter would represent a major step forward in the Super Eagles goalkeeper’s career.
However, Udinese’s reported €20m valuation could prove a stumbling block as Inter assess whether to pursue their interest. No formal offer has been reported, and it remains unclear whether the Milan-based club would be willing to meet the asking price.
The transfer speculation comes amid a difficult period for Okoye and Udinese, who suffered a fourth consecutive Serie A defeat after losing 2-1 to Torino on Monday.
The Nigerian goalkeeper was involved in the decisive moment in the 67th minute when he collided with teammate Nicolò Bertola while attempting to clear the ball. The mix-up allowed Torino substitute Sandro Kulenović to score into an unguarded net.
The costly error proved damaging as Udinese failed to recover from the setback, extending their disappointing run of results.
Despite the recent setback, Inter’s reported interest suggests Okoye remains on the radar of a major European club. Whether the speculation develops into a formal bid will depend on Inter’s recruitment plans and Udinese’s willingness to negotiate.
