The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has warned party members against anti-party activities and factionalism ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The warning was issued during an engagement with party leaders and stakeholders in Kano North Senatorial District, amid reported disagreements involving supporters of key party figures in the zone.
Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, represented at the meeting by the Kano North Zonal Chairman, Abdullahi Magaji Lamba Bichi, urged members to maintain discipline, loyalty and unity within the party.
The party leadership said members whose actions undermine the cohesion and interests of the APC or its candidates could face disciplinary measures in line with the party’s constitution. Such measures, according to the party, may include suspension or expulsion where warranted.
Bichi also called on party leaders and supporters to resolve their differences and work together ahead of the 2027 elections.
The development comes amid reported political tensions in Kano North involving supporters of Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo and Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin.
The APC leadership said the party expected its members to prioritise unity and respect for constituted authority as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
