The Commander-General of the Katsina State Hisbah Board, Dr Aminu Usman, popularly known as Abu Ammar, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

Usman announced his resignation in a letter dated October 5, 2026, addressed to the Secretary to the Katsina State Government.

In the letter, the former Hisbah commander thanked Governor Dikko Umar Radda for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of the state.

He said he was pleased to have contributed to the development of Katsina, particularly in promoting peace, security and moral values among residents.

However, Usman did not state any specific reason for his resignation. Reports also indicate that the state government has subsequently appointed Muhammad Saifuddeen Yakubu Musa as his replacement.

The resignation comes amid increased attention on the activities and responsibilities of the Katsina Hisbah Board, which has been involved in mediation, moral guidance and other community-related activities across the state.

The former commander ended his resignation letter by praying for Governor Radda’s success in leading the state.
