Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has commissioned the remodelled J.B. Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau as part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by former governors of the state, Ahmad Yarima and Mahmud Shinkafi, as well as the first Military Administrator of Zamfara, Colonel Jibril Bala Yakubu.

Yakubu, who joined Lawal to commission the project, said he could hardly recognise the secretariat because of the extensive changes made to the building.

He urged stakeholders to embrace peace and unity, while calling on residents to support the state government’s rebuilding agenda.

Lawal thanked former leaders of the state for their contributions to its development and said his administration would continue to build on their efforts.

The governor said the remodelled secretariat would provide workers with a better environment to perform their duties and improve service delivery.

The J.B. Yakubu Secretariat Complex is one of the infrastructure projects undertaken by the Lawal administration. Earlier phases of the renovation included modern facilities such as solar power and Wi-Fi connectivity.
