Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Ikechukwu Okonkwo, popularly known as Cross, has expressed concern over street safety in Lagos after allegedly being robbed by a street beggar in Ikate, Lekki.
Cross said the incident occurred while he was driving in the area and some beggars approached his vehicle. According to him, one of the men engaged him through the car window before allegedly ripping off a chrome trim from the vehicle and fleeing.
The reality TV star said he got out of the car and chased the suspect but was unable to catch him after the man disappeared into traffic.
In a video shared on social media on Wednesday, Cross expressed frustration over the incident and questioned the presence of street beggars around busy areas.
He said the experience had made him concerned about the safety of motorists and other residents.
The incident has renewed discussions on street begging, petty theft and the safety of motorists in busy parts of Lagos.
